+ Theology 101 +
Weekly sessions
Mondays at 10:00 am & repeated on
Tuesdays at 7:30 pm
Theology 101 is an overview of our Catholic faith from its roots in Judaism and the Christ event through the development of its teachings and history up to our present time. Special attention is given to the relationships among the churches and other world religions. All are welcome to join Fr. Roy Tvrdik, SMM for input and discussion.
We use a text titled "The Christian Theological Tradition," edited by Cory and Landry which can be purchased at the Shrine Gift Shoppe or online through any bookseller. They are used textbooks in good condition and are sold for approximately $40. A new book can be purchased for around $54. It is not necessary to buy the books to attend the class, but it is a great resource with a glossary of theological terms, maps, photos and timelines that help to put the events of Salvation History into perspective
Each session lasts 90 minutes and we meet in the Shrine Coffee Shoppe.
You are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions. It is an ongoing series, so you may begin or end at any time as your schedule permits. No attendance is taken!
A free-will offering is thankfully accepted after each session.
